The Minions are back - and so are loads of our favorite actors from the franchise! Minions: The Rise of Gru features a whole lot of our favorite voices and some new ones that got us really excited - and some of them might not be who you think they are!
Steve Carell is back as Gru, the only difference this time is that he had to pitch up quite a bit to make himself sound like little Gru! Then, of course, there’s the actor that is one of the driving factors behind the Despicable Me franchise in its entirety - since he not only voices the most characters but happens to lend his hand to writing, producing, and directing as well. A legend of the screen, who happens to have had multiple incredible films come out in 2022, lends their voice to a very fun character - any guesses which other animated feature they did around the same time?? There is some real-life royalty included in this cast - we’re talking about a real-life Dame whose voice many of us have come to know as that of “Lady Whistledown”.
Some characters were voiced by action stars of the screen - and one of their names definitely gives away which cast member they wound up playing! One actor behind a cameo character happens to be multi-talented, so honestly, we’re a bit surprised they didn’t end up rapping at some point in the movie!
No matter how long the actor had been part of the franchise, every single performer brought their characters to life in the best way.
