Often when out and about in my travels I stumble across Buddhist Temples. Not those grand structures in Tibet or China or Japan, but the more humble places that grace our neighborhoods. I read several books about Buddhism back in, yep the 70's, but without the drugs. I have practiced my version of it for years, quietly in my room, or outside in any area with a few trees or a quiet expanse of grass. Or even when engulfed in the middle of the chaos we call the city. The meditation is an inner search of nothing on a journey of mind, body, and spirit to nowhere, to discover that the simplicity of everything is all you need. That every breath is a prayer and every beat of our heart is a song that reverberates endlessly across the cosmos.
I would like to thank wholeheartedly the gentle priests of this Vietnamese Temple for the use of this wonderful retreat that they maintain with love and kindness and in the healing spirit of the Buddha.
