Some countries opt to ban their production and marketing while others implement recycling strategies. In any case, the plastic bag policy seems more and more essential. South Africa and Rwanda were the pioneers in banning them.
Many countries subsequently followed this movement which became a veritable tidal wave on the continent.
We are going into the field to investigate “the scourge of plastic bags” in Benin, Cameroon and Rwanda.
