At the same time, the AMG-specific electronic limited-slip differential on the rear axle optimally distributes power between the wheels when cornering, continually readapting to the driving situation at hand. Even the brakes contribute to the dynamics: the highly heat-resistant and lightweight composite brake discs facilitate precision braking with just the right amount of power for excellent deceleration performance. And both driving dynamics and turn-in behaviour benefit from the low weight and reduced unsprung mass.

Borrowed from motorsport: multiple details profit from the material mix of aluminium, steel, magnesium and fibre composites for maximum rigidity, top performance and weight savings. Among other things, an aluminium frame, carbon-fibre bracing on the axle beams and glass mat-reinforced thermoplastics are used for the lock bridge. And numerous active aerodynamic measures redirect the smallest of airflows to optimise dynamics. The active aerodynamic profile is directly from Formula 1: thanks to the so-called Venturi effect, the vehicle literally sucks itself toward the road, particularly in the curves, while the active, variably extendable rear spoiler ensures the perfect balance between downforce and drag.


As striking as it is distinctive

In SPORT+ mode, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G not only delivers distinctively dynamic gear shifting, but also a prominent intermediate throttle kick. And with AMG Real Performance Sound, you get the entire appeal and soundscape of the mighty powertrain directly in the cabin: for a feeling somewhere between feisty and spine-chilling.


As high-performance as it is practical

The spirited overall performance of the GT Coupé goes hand in hand with an invisible innovation that noticeably impacts comfort: the AMG motor brackets connect the engine to the chassis dynamically, becoming more rigid or more flexible depending on the driving situation. Plus, the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active roll stabilisation reduces vehicle body movements to a minimum. For your added convenience, the front axle can be raised by 30mm as needed, making it easier to drive into underground garages, for example. And thanks to stored GPS data, the height is automatically adjusted when you reach a known destination.
