Mitsubishi Motors has unveiled the sixth generation of its popular Triton midsize pickup in Thailand, which is also marketed as the L200.

The new Triton will be available globally in three different body styles – single-cab, club-cab, and double-cab.

The 2.4-liter four-cylinder diesel engine was tuned to reduce friction loss and weight while getting a new variable geometry turbocharger.

The newly developed 4N16 clean diesel engine comes in three different output specifications to meet different purposes.

The base engine produces 148 hp (110 kW) and 243 pound-feet (330 Nm), the mid-spec makes 181 hp (135 kW) and 317 pound-feet (430 Nm), while the high-output version churns out 201 hp (150 kW) and 347 pound-feet (470 Nm).

The Triton comes with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission with shift-by-wire that reduces vibration directly transmitted from the engine and improves comfort.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is now available to order in Thailand, ahead of a roll-out across South-East Asia and Oceania – including Japan in early 2024, for the first time in 12 years.

Expected to arrive in Australia in early 2024, with local details – including pricing and features – to be announced closer to its launch.
