Before Kevin Owens became champion in WWE, he was known as Kevin Steen on the independent scene.

There has been a story floating around that CM Punk & Kevin Owens (then Kevin Steen) nearly came to blows backstage at an ROH (Ring of Honor) show back in the day.

Owens clears up this rumor and explains why it all had to do with his choice to wear a T-Shirt in the ring. Kevin Owens explains that CM Punk was fine until a comment was made backstage. Then Punk accused Owens of being "disrespectful", yelling at him in front of the locker room.

Backstage controversy is nothing new to CM Punk who today was fired by Tony Khan and AEW for similar issues.
