This drill is a great way to improve your hang time. A partner or coach lobs the ball up in the air and the player has to jump as high as they can and hang in the air and get into the finish.
For the second part of the drill we add a reactionary component where we call out a verbal cue that determines which hand the player finishes with. This makes the drill a lot harder and forces the player to react and adapt to the vocal cue.
