Hey sub family, The Specifications of (E83/E82/E84) BMW doesn't recommend replacing fluids other than oil and brake fluid as they have an unfortunate lifetime fluid this is not necessarily True. Although they say their "lifetime fluid" never needs to be replaced, it should be changed every 50,000 miles.

The transfer box is a component specific to 4 wheel drive vehicles. This component serves as the differential for the axles of a car so to speak. Its purpose is to distribute power to both the front
and rear axles.
