“…I am invoking You [Allah] by all the Names that You call Yourself, that You have taught to anyone in Your creation, that You have mentioned in Your Book, or that You have kept unknown. Let the Qur’an be the Springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sadness, and the pacifier of my worries.”

On the authority of ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever was afflicted with grief and distress and says (see the dua above), Allah, the Exalted and Ever-Majestic, will remove his grief and will change his sorrow into happiness.” It was said, “O Messenger of Allah! (Do) we have to learn these words?” He said, “Yes, whoever hears them should learn them.”

‘O Allah, guide me along with those whom You have guided, pardon me along with those whom You have pardoned, be an ally to me along with those whom You are an ally to and bless for me that which You have bestowed. Protect me from the evil You have decreed for verily You decree and none can decree over You. For surety, he whom you show allegiance to is never abased, and he whom You take as an enemy is never honored and mighty. O our Lord, Blessed and Exalted are You.’

‘O Allah, I take refuge within Your pleasure from Your displeasure and within Your pardon from Your punishment, and I take refuge in You from You. I cannot enumerate Your praise. You are as You have praised Yourself.’
