Despite Wolverine's many appearances in video games, none have truly captured the feeling of being Wolverine. Raven Software acknowledged this, and set out to the make THE Wolverine game in 2009. The game began as an original concept, but was later transitioned into a movie tie-in game to coincide with the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, starring Hugh Jackman. The movie was ultimately deemed a disappointment amongst fans, but surprisingly, the game was viewed as a big success. In this video, we'll discuss the origins of this Wolverine game, and why its so beloved by fans. We'll also delve into aspects of the film, and how it potentially held the game back.

As a special bonus, I've also included snippets of an interview that I had with @cbake76 who was Manger, Licensed Games at the time for Marvel. Chris shared a lot of interesting insights from his time with the game before its release, and I really enjoyed my conversation with him.

Always Nerdy is a Youtube channel dedicated to all things nerdy, with a focus on comic book game retrospectives for both DC and Marvel. I'm always open to suggestions for games you'd like to see covered, and I hope to eventually cover them all.
