May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month. Educate yourself about Lyme disease and tick-borne disease and how to keep your family safe.
Recognizing a Lyme disease rash, when present, is important for early diagnosis. Although a Bull's-eye rash is the most well-known and recognizable Lyme disease rash presentation, it is not the most common. A more typical Lyme disease rash is uniformly red and round, and expands to 2"-8" in diameter. The rash is often mistaken for a spider bite. Recognizing the various Lyme disease rash presentations can help reduce misdiagnosis.
