If you've never had a hiking fone the trade off is durability versus quality of features. Even though the fone has built in armor and is water resistant, it can be broken, just not easily. If you have an active lifestyle or work in a blue collar environment, this fone may be for you. The quality of the camera and microphone are not the best for making YouTube videos, but if it drops off the tripod onto concrete it will probably survive.
