This event took place on September 23rd, 2023. An event to start remembering these amazing trains that served the City and District of Scarborough in Ontario, Canada for 38 years. The line was cut short of its original retirement date (being November 18th, 2023) due to a derailment on the line that happened on July 24th, 2023, changing the last day of the SRT to July 24th, 2023. This line was an amazing and really convenient line for many commuters with me included. The line was not that reliable in specific conditions but other than that it was pretty reliable.

I loved the Scarborough RT growing up, always thought of it at a "cool outdoor train with a cool elevated part". I made many memories on the SRT in the very early 2010s going to Scarborough Town Centre. As I became a transit fanner in late 2021, I started to realize how much I cared about the SRT, beforehand I was not really needing to ride it too much but started to more and more as I realized that it was my favorite train. I will forever miss the Scarborough RT.
