The Spiritual & Gospel Festival featuring the Stars of Faith, Delois Barrett Campbell & The Barrett Sisters, the Sensational Nightingales, and Reverend Robert Mayes Friday, was a transcendent celebration of gospel and spiritual music that brought together some of the most talented and beloved voices in the genre. The Barrett Sisters,
consisting of DeLois Barrett Campbell, Rodessa Barrett Porter, and Billie Barrett GreenBey, were a gospel trio hailing from Chicago, Illinois. Their close harmonies and passionate delivery of gospel standards and original compositions made them icons in the world of gospel music. The Sensational Nightingales, a gospel quartet with
a long and storied history, brought their distinctive blend of harmonious singing and heartfelt lyrics to the festival. Led by the charismatic Reverend Robert Mayes, the group's uplifting performances were filled with soulful melodies and messages of faith. This song was performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival on July 8th, 1983 at the Garden Pavilion.
