In this video we installed much-needed power steps on our van. Since the van is 4WD, the step up or down to get in and out is quite high. These Amp-Research Power Steps divide the height of the step approximately in half, without reducing the ground clearance when they are stowed.

We ordered a kit from Sprinter Store. This includes Amp Research Power Steps for a 2018-and-earlier van (NCV3), plus a magnet switch and somewhat hazy instructions for how to make it work. Our hope is that this sheds some light on the uncertainty around making power steps work on a 2019+ VS30 Sprinter.

The main issue seems to be finding the appropriate door-open signal wires. This is a blue wire in a 4-wire harness inside each front door. You'll have to make your own signal for the sliding door by installing a magnet switch. This splices into the same wire that signals the passenger's door open, because they share the same power step.

We truly hope this video clears up some questions without being too basic or too overly detailed. If you have questions, please post them below and we'll do our best to answer them! As always, if you like the video, let your friends know. If you don't like it, let us know!
