Kelsey Plum. 2021 WNBA Sixth Person of the Year. 2017 WNBA All-Rookie Team. Olympic gold medalist (2020 Tokyo 3x3). Plum finished the 2021 WNBA season in the top 20 in scoring, assists, and true shooting, (and offensive rating, and PER, for whatever you think that’s worth), and made free throws. She also finished second in the league in total free throw percentage (94.4%).

Kelsey Plum is just a bucket. Plain and simple. She broke the single season scoring record in the NCAA with 1,109 points (becoming only the third player in NCAA history to top a thousand points), the single game scoring record (57), and became the first player in Pac-12 history (male or female) to score 3,000 career points. Yes, Kelsey can do more than just score but watching her manipulate defenders so she can manufacture just enough space to get a shot off is mesmerizing. She's got phenomenal footwork, range, and a lot of shift in her game, AND being a lefty adds a little extra on top of all of that. She is definitely one of the most fun players to watch in the W and she seems to do everything with the greatest of ease.

Plum was forced to miss the WNBA bubble season because she tore her Achilles tendon in June of 2020. She bounced back in a big way in 2021: she was second only to the then-reigning WNBA Most Valuable Player A’ja Wilson in scoring for the Las Vegas Aces, got a gold medal (joining Breanna Stewart and Kevin Durant as the only players to come back from an Achilles tear and immediately win Olympic gold), and won Sixth Person of the Year and finished second in Most Improved Player voting.

This video is almost exclusively about Kelsey’s 2021 season from a scoring standpoint but after the spinning drop-off that I absolutely HAD to include, I decided to add some of the best Plum scoring plays I could find.
