29.6% of the households in Greater Grand Crossing live beneath the federal poverty line. 22.4% of the houses are vacant. Like neighborhoods across the city—especially on the West and South Sides—Greater Grand Crossing is suffering from Chicago’s notorious wealth gap.

And Rebuild Foundation is changing the narrative by leveraging the power and potential of communities, buildings, and objects that others have written off to give spaces that have otherwise been forgotten a new breath of life.
