At this Lab Notes event we hear from Dr Adam Greenstein and Dr Kate Kellet from our North West Research Network. They shared insights from their work into vascular dementia. The event is chaired by Josie Waters from Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Dr Adam Greenstein, a consultant hypertension physician and blood vessel researcher from University of Manchester introduced the importance of blood vessels and blood flow in the brain. His research investigates whether blood vessel damage in the brain could be partially responsible for vascular dementia.

Dr Kate Kellet from University of Manchester talked about her work using human stem cells to study vascular dementia. She also discussed how her methods for studying dementia could be used to start looking at the effects of COVID-19 in the brain.
