If you have a railway then you need sidings too - for parking wagons and things when they're not being used. Mine happen to be in a polytunnel which doubles up as a drying shed when the wood chip wagons get parked in there. Getting the wagons onto the sidings, and then back on to the mainline later, means points - and points mean prizes, of course! My points are single-blade points - or, as I've learned to call them, kick-switches....
