Basic POWWOW dance steps and teachings on the meaning of POWWOW REGALIA. Powwow Dancing is a way Indigenous People can come together and celebrate their culture. Many of us are disconnected from our own culture due to colonization. So my hope is people can learn more about our culture and Indigenous kids who were disconnected like me, can learn some dance steps!

If you are not Indigenous and you want to become a powwow dancer you need to be taught by and accepted by your local Indigenous community. Our culture was against the law in Canada until 1951. Many Indigenous people don't have access to their own culture due to the impacts of colonization. As of now making a regalia and becoming a powwow dancer is for Indigenous peoples only.
