In this lecture we discuss Molecular Markers also known as DNA Markers. The basics of RFLP, RAPD and AFLP.

Molecular Marker is a fragment of DNA that is associated with a certain location within the genome. Molecular markers are used in molecular biology and biotechnology to identify a particular sequence of DNA in a pool of unknown DNA.
they transferred generation to generation dominantly and co-dominantly. SSR Simple sequence repeats, STR Short Tandem Repeat , RFLP Restriction fragment length polymorphism are Codominant markers. and AFLP Amplified fragment length polymorphism , RAPD Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA, ISSR inter simple sequence repeat are Dominant markers.
