Taking a look inside a Tamper Resistant Eaton Outlet I will show how the design greatly reduces the chances of getting shocked. Since 2008 the National Electrical Code (NEC) has started to introduce code that requires the use of Tamper Resistant outlets with the main focus to protect small children. I will show the extra parts and complexity which could lead to more failures and maintenance over time. Additionally, I will show the difference between a Tamper Resistant and a Tamper and Weather Resistant outlet.
