Every year, at least 1.3 billion tonnes of food goes to waste, while over 16% of the global population is malnourished. Our Ambassador, Frank Mugisha, is changing that, one fly at a time.

Frank is the CEO of Akatale on Cloud. His out-of-the-box solution to food insecurity in Uganda is the Black Soldier Fly. By breeding flies and using their natural abilities, Frank has been able to empower 1,560 farmers, transform 60,000 tonnes of waste into organic fertilisers and mitigate 300 kilogrammes of methane daily.
