There is a small chance that when playing your sims will be abducted, but without using cheats the best way to be abducted is to contact aliens, which can be done by using a satellite dish which can be made at level 4 of the scientist career, or the Out Of This World Desktop is unlocked at level 10 of the career.

CHEATS:

To get the satellite dish:

Hold CONTROL + SHIFT + C and then type in 'testingcheats true' into the cheats bar.
Then type 'bb.showhiddenobjects' into the cheats bar, and after this the satellite dish will appear in the miscellaneous section within electronics.

To get the out of this world desktop:

You can buy it on a community lot, or place it in a home before moving in. Alternative you can use cheats to make it available without reaching level 10 of the Scientist career.

Hold CONTROL + SHIFT + C and then type in 'testingcheats true' into the cheats bar.
Then type 'bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement' into the cheats bar and you will be able to purchase it.

STRAIGHT CHEATS

To make an abduction happen instantly:

interactions.push AlienAbduction_BeAbducted

For back to back abductions that bypass the 24 hour cooldown, in between each abduction cheat, also enter the following cheat:

stats.set_stat commodity_AlienAbduction_Cooldown 0
