1 stick (115 g) salted butter
1 and 1/4 cup (135 g) rolled oats (we used gluten-free)
1/3 cup and 2 tablespoons (110 g) granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar or vanilla extract (homemade vanilla sugar)
2 tablespoons of cold coffee

For rolling/coating, we use different options. You can choose your favorite :)
Nib sugar, also known as pearl sugar, is used in the classic Swedish version, but you can interchange it with unsweetened desiccated shredded coconut or nonpareils (tiny sprinkles balls).

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before eating. They keep well in the fridge for up to 10 days inside a sealed container. You can freeze these chocolate balls for up to 2 months.
