Harry Potter, a world of wonder and magic. It’s also a world that doesn’t always make the most sense! In this video, we’re taking a look at aspects in the Harry Potter movies that didn’t totally add up. From safety at Hogwarts to the huge disconnect from the muggle world, there are details that are really perplexing.
Who ever thought giving a time turner and the power to literally change fate to a thirteen year old Hermione Granger was a good idea? Speaking of Hermione - what happened to all of her friends from the Muggle world? We know her father is a dentist, but do witches and wizards in the world of magic not need dentists? The consensus isn’t clear since Slughorn and his Slug Club seem perplexed by the concept, yet the Weasley’s are aware of the concept since it’s on a clock in their home! Scabbers the Weasley rat, also known as Peter Pettigrew, made an interesting choice in loving with the Weasley’s for 12 years. What we’re concerned about is the fact that Ron snuggled up with the rat every night - his reaction to the discovery seems quite minimal and totally glossed over considering the intensity of the situation.
Hogwarts is definitely not the safest school - in fact, we could argue that the students could be in more danger there than anyone else. Just trying to get around the grounds using the insane, unsafe stairs is a struggle!
