Some tips of how to break detainment when running the Templar solo. This takes practice and patience to get down consistently. Don't feel worried if it feels very finnicky and inconsistent at first. It sure did for me. Just take it slowly and make sure you take it step by step. First DO NOT take shield down during the 'ritual of negation', next make sure to stand in the correct spot and aim OFF the Templar a bit. Finally, use the super and IMMEDIATELY start spamming the light attack. It'll take consistent practice to become proficient but these are by far the most important tips when getting consistent at breaking detainment by your self.
