This classic Lemon vanilla pound cake is one of my show stoppers, no doubt. It is always be a conversation starter when you make it for your family and loved ones! It is very rich, lightly dense and delicious! Brown crust on the outside - decadent and moist on the inside! This pound cake can be enjoyed with or without a glaze! Simply add some berries or ice cream and you have the perfect desert! I hope you give it a try.

Ingredients used

3 cups All purpose flour
2 sticks butter
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
3 cups sugar (I cut it down to 2.5)
1 teaspoon Baking powder
5 eggs @ room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon extract (compliments the cream cheese)
8oz cream cheese @ room temperature
1 cup heavy whipping cream
Zest of 1 lemon
*1 teaspoon salt (omit if using salted butter)
