Shawn and Carrie Purdy are the parents of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. Their son had a memorable first year in the NFL as a rookie out of Iowa State this past season, beginning the year as the team’s third-string quarterback but — thanks to injuries — being called upon to finish the final five games of the regular season.

Brock performed admirably and led the 49ers to the playoffs, helping San Francisco win two postseason games before injuring his right elbow and falling to the Philadelphia Eagles, 31-7, in the NFC championship game.
