Madonna is talk of the town once again – But not all the talk is very nice, as fans voice their thoughts about the iconic singer’s latest look. Madonna has long been known as the queen of pop and the 64 year old singer continues to turn heads with every public appearance. When Madonna hit the red carpet for this year’s awards show, she got called out yet again for looking a lot different than how she looks on Instagram. Generally speaking, the 2023 Grammy Awards were a big deal for Madonna. Not only did she announce the 40th anniversary of her Celebration Tour, but she also praised artists, like herself, who are known for courting dissent. Before Sam Smith took the stage, Madonna spoke to the crowd about the virtue of causing a ruckus. She said: ‘So here’s what I’ve learned after four decades in music – if they call you shocking, scandalous, troublesome, problematic, provocative or dangerous, you’re definitely on to something’. But this message was largely lost on people – apparently thanks to the noise about Madonna’s altered look. Frankly, people were pretty mean about it. One Twitter user summed up their reaction by writing ‘Me attempting to ignore the fact that Madonna has a whole new face’

About the Instructor:
Barrister Dr. Mobeen Shah completed her Bar at Law from City University, London, and then went on to do her LLM in Human Rights and Corporate Law and Ph.D. in Data Protection and Privacy from Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, UK. She then taught as Lecturer in Law at Nottingham Trent University in the LLB and LLM program teaching Public Law, Criminal and Contract Law, Intellectual Property, and Data Protection and Privacy. She has also worked at Trent Chambers, UK dealing with a multitude of Human Rights cases on immigration, deportation, and custody matters.
Currently, she is working as a Corporate Lawyer at a distinguished Corporate firm.
