The Amazing Spider-Man 2 premiered in 2014 to a mixed response. Though the visuals and presentation of the movie, as well as the acting, was top notch, many detested the amount of subplots and general lack of focus went on within the movie, and could easily pin the blame on Sony rushing in to create a cinematic universe as fast as possible, rather than organically.
