What an amazing weekend kayaking across the state of West Virginia! I hadn't been to West Virginia since 2017 when I was traveling full-time with my parents in their van. It was so nice to be back and in my own van this time!

My first stop was to kayak the Lower Meadow and Upper Gauley with Alex Lee, John Moore, and Landon Miller before driving further north to Highwater Hobbies for a Jackson Kayak Fun Tour.

Once at Highwater Hobbies, we met up with Don Boehmer and Christina Kossis among others, and embarked on the Little Sandy (with over 70 paddlers and 30 women) followed by the bottom section of the Upper Big Sandy. The group then split up, and the advanced paddlers embarked down the Lower Big Sandy with 18-foot Wonder Falls and Big Splat, an intimidating class V rapid.

Then we drove to Fayetteville for the Jackson Kayak Fun Tour with Ace Adventure Gear where we enjoyed a joy lap down the New River Gorge! The water was high and there were lots of big waves, whirlpools, and fun surf spots!

As the weekend came to a close, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the incredible adventures and the amazing people I shared them with. And this is just the beginning—stay tuned for more epic journeys ahead!
