Friday 13th Ramaḍān, 1445 CE (22nd March 2024)

Shaykh Muṣṭafá George (حفظه الله) mentioned the following points:
• Seeking knowledge is an act of worship,
• The angels lower their wings for the student of knowledge out of pleasure of what he is doing.
• Sufyān Al-Thawrī (رحمه الله) said, ‘I do not know any act of worship that gains an individual nearness to Allāh (عز وجل) like seeking knowledge.’
• Fasting Ramaḍān is a pillar of our Religion.
• Fasting is an obligation. It is not something recommended.
• The wisdom behind fasting is so that you may establish taqwá.
• Fasting was made obligatory during the second year of Hijrah.
• Some virtues of Fasting.
• The conditions that make Ramaḍān obligatory upon a person.
• Recommended acts for the fasting person.
• The best thing to break the fast is moist dates.
• It is sunnah to make duʿā’ at the time of breaking the fast.
• The duʿā’ of the fasting person is not rejected.
• Ramaḍān is the month of the Qur’ān
• The best angel JIbrīl (عليه السلام) visited the best prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), in the best month of Ramaḍān, while he (صلى الله عليه وسلم) was doing the best action – reading the Qur’ān.
• Performing ʿUmrah during Ramaḍān is a recommended act.
• The fasting person should be cautious of what he says and does.
• Eating and drinking forgetfully during the day does not invalidate the fast.
• It is permissible to taste the food while cooking during the day.
• People who are excused from fasting and are allowed to break their fast.
