There are times when you need to weld something, but the welding machine isn't within easy reach. What should you do then? There is a way out! You can make it by yourself! For this you do not need any complex components and experience.
So, for making it you need: a cord with an electrical connector, a water container, some water, some salt, two metal leafs and actually a welding electrode. So, lets fill the glass can and add two table spoons of salt. Let's attach each cord to each metal leaf. Let's dip the metal leafs into the salt solution. By changing the depth of metal leafs' immersion we can change the welding electrode's current intensity from 10 to 160 amperes. So, let's connect the cord of the first metal leaf to the welding electrode and the second one to the phase conductor of 220 volts. Let's connect the neutral conductor to the part we are going to weld. In order to indicate where gas is and where it's neutral in the circuit without an indicator we just need to apply the cord to the ground and let's see what cord will sparkle having made a contact with the ground. the one which sparkles is the one which is a phase conductor.

But this scheme has its cons:
1. - the welding electrode and some details are under phase voltage, that's why you should be doubly careful.
2- High energy consumption, if your bad power supply it may cause voltage drops in your neighbors' power supply.
3.- supply system overload. If your supply system isn't designed to conduct high current , it's better to connect it indirectly.
