Matthew Litwin and David Conwill of Hemmings Classic Car have made a request to revive Hemmings’ own 1936 Chevrolet Panel. Originally acquired by Terry Ehrlich, this is one of the three sedan deliveries that graced the cover illustration for Hemmings Motor News and has been a mainstay of Hemmings since the 1970s.

The last time it was parked, the 250-ci inline six had a near full tank of fuel. That was not a good find but it provides the backstory for the first in the new series of building a road-ready classic that will serve as the Hemmings Classic Car staff’s reliable road tripper.

We’ll start by addressing the fuel tank and show the repair steps necessary to support a future inline-six install with creature comforts including A/C.
