Pelé made his debut for Brazil at the age of 17 and less than a year after his first appearance as a professional. The striker scored 2 goals in his first 2 games with Verdeamarela and ended up earning a place among those called up to the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. In the quarterfinals, Pelé scored the only goal of the game against Wales (1-0) and, with At 17 years and 239 days, he is still the youngest player to score in a World Cup. In total, Pelé played in 4 World Cups, participated in 14 matches and scored 12 goals to become the greatest World Cup Legend.
