This video is how to refinish concrete to a like new condition. I use this method to help hide a crack or to cover a section of concrete that I am unable to remove all the paint. I start by Powerwashing the steps and remove as much paint as possible with a diamond grinder. Then, I use rapid set mortar mix to fill in any small voids. I also add some bonding adhesive to the water to help aid in the adhesion to the old concrete. Next, I dust off the surface from any left over debris from filling in the voids. Then, I mix Portland cement into a slurry mixture and apply a thin coat over the entire set of steps. Be careful not to apply the cement too thick or it will crack. Also be sure to keep the concrete wet that you are applying the Portland cement to in order to help the application process. I decided to applied 2 coats to the top of the steps because that was the area with the most damage.
