SELAWAT ASYGHIL

READING prayers to our esteemed Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam will be rewarded with great reward from Allah Subhanahu wata'ala. Due to the special prayers, Allah and His angels alone prayed to the Prophet. So that there is no reason for us as his people to be lazy to pray.

One of the most popular recitation of prayers among Muslims is Sholawat Asyghil. This prayer is also very popular to be read by Muslims in Indonesia, especially among pesantren. Almost at any time such as istighasah or at dawn or maghrib, this prayer is often sung in congregation.

Sholawat Asyghil was first recited by Al Imam Ja’far Ash-Shodiq (died 138 H). He used to recite this prayer while reciting the qunut prayer of the dawn prayer. He lived at the end of the Umayyad dynasty and the beginning of the Abbasid dynasty which was full of intrigue and political conflict.

However, history also mentions that the prayer is popularly called the Prayer of Habib Ahmad bin Umar Al-Hinduan Ba ​​'Alawy (died 1122 H). As a result, Sholawat Asyghil includes the sighat sholawat compiled in the book of Habib Ahmad bin Umar, namely Alkawakib Almudhi'ah fi Zikris Shalah ‘ala Khairil Bariyyah.

The reading of Sholawat Asyghil is as follows:

اللهم صل علي سيدنا محمد وأشغل الظالمين بالظالمين وأخرجنا من بينهم سالمين وعلي اله وصحبه أجمعين

While the benefit of Sholawat Asyghil for its readers is to get the protection of Allah Ta'ala from the oppressors and be saved from all their deeds and deceptions. Hopefully we can practice it regularly!
