Here are the first images and information on the all-new 2023 Honda CRV. The gas model will go on sale later this summer and the new dual motor hybrid will go on sale later in the year. The hybrid will only be sold as the top Touring trim, which is a major disappointment.

First the looks and size. The new CRV is 68m or roughly 2.5 inches longer than the outgoing model, 1.5-inches wider or 40mm and the wheelbase 10mm longer. The elongated hood and new windshield design are done to produce a sportier stance. The windshield pillars have been moved forward and the rake of the window is lower to produce a sense of sportiness and speed. Also, the side mirrors have been moved Lowe onto the doors for better outward visibility. The CR-V is sold with either bright accents on the new black grille, side mirrors, and more of the option to have dark accents on the sportier model including piano black trim accents. This 6th generation CRV gets LED headlamps up front and LEDs at the back with a reworked vertical look that keeps the back familiar.

The interior we have seen before, basically a reworked Civic interior with the mesh vent grille that runs the width of the cabin, The base model gets cloth seats and a 7-inch infotainment screen with ACP and AA,. Honda made sure to point out that they still have physical volume knobs! Starting on the EX-l is where you get leather and the larger 9-inch unit also with physical knobs. All VR-V models get a digital instrument cluster. This 6th generation model is the largest in term of cabin space of any CR-V to date, which was already large, so room for a family will be ample.

The new CR-V Touring will be sold with the dual motor hybrid system, meaning the electric motors are mounted side, by side to produce a normal driving feel, like the gas model. It has 204hp and 247lb-ft. Of torque so it should be fairly lively to drive. The regular models come with an updated 2.5L turbo 4-cylinder with 190hp and and 179 lb-ft of torque. Honda claims and improved power delivery over a broader range of engine speeds. Honda also claims that the step-shift CVT has been improved too for more performance especially at full throttle. A new snow mode has been added to eco and normal modes plus the touring gets a sport mode.

Pricing for the new CR-V has not been release but will come closer to the on sale date.
