Unstable weather and heavy rain continued to overtake parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday, flooding some streets and stalling traffic in Dubai.

Early on Monday, Dubai police issued a public safety advisory alerting residents to the adverse weather conditions. The UAE's National Centre of Meteorology stated that from Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday morning, another wave of unstable weather was expected to begin from western areas and spread across the country.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) was temporarily diverting arriving flights on Tuesday evening until weather conditions improved, but said that departures will continue to operate. Some residents could even be seen using a rubber boat to move around the flooded streets.

Meanwhile, the death toll in separate heavy flooding in neighbouring Oman rose to 18 with others still missing. The Royal Oman Police said more than 75 people were rescued over a 24-hour period.
