Corrections to this video:
- Chrysler, not Chevrolet coined the term “Hemi”
- The final shot of a Lockheed Constellation is not using Double Wasps but rather the R-3350 Duplex Cyclone.

The Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp was a WWII aircraft engine that left a lasting impression on the aviators privileged enough to operate one. While not the greatest at any one particular thing, the Double Wasp could do everything well. Most importantly, though, it was known for being able to sustain incredible battle damage and get its pilot home safely. This is the story of the development and application of the Double Wasp, an engine that deserves to be remembered.
