"Is it really true?" remains as one of the big questions at the heart of our society. Even today, sons and daughters keep asking their parents in disbelief. Judge at the International Court, the ECCC, investigate the details. Visitors to Cambodia shudder at shrines with broken skulls.

Under the Khmer Rouge, close to 2 million Cambodians were killed by their own people. Documents from the 1970′s are scarce and unreliable. Today, it's today mostly the stories of the survivors that help us to learn the truth.

This DVD is about those stories. For over four years, journalism students students of the Department of Media and Communication at the Royal University of Phnom Penh have been doing research in this field -- and finding pieces of the big picture. Their short documentaries will take you, the viewers, to different places in Cambodia, meeting survivors and their stories. Stories that help us get closer to the truth -- and understand how it affects Cambodian daily life until today.
