One of the more simple and inexpensive ways to keep PC temperatures down is by replacing old thermal paste. Over time it dries up, no matter which brand you choose, and this can lead to some pretty toasty temperatures.

It's one of the first things I'd recommend doing if you buy a used prebuilt system, because as you'll see in this video, it can have a huge effect on the thermal numbers.
