FLOODING IN AUSTRIA: "The dam has a big hole" - The Federal Army in the fight against the floods

The situation in Tulln, Lower Austria, remains tense. A hole in the dam is being sealed with the constant use of Black Hawk helicopters and big packs filled with gravel and rubble to prevent the dam from breaking. Several communities have already had to be evacuated. Across Austria, 26 towns are cut off from the outside world, 22 communities have no drinking water, and thousands of households have no electricity. In some places, however, the clean-up has already begun. Air operations to secure the dams are continuing tirelessly to keep the situation under control.
