Chronic illnesses are chronically misunderstood. Having experienced everything from backhanded remarks to unsupportive teachers to inexperienced doctors, Madeline Elizabeth Miller has truly lived the experience of an invisible illness. This short, ten-minute piece hopes to reflect Madeline’s story as she describes her experience living with a rare neurological disorder from diagnosis to daily life. Hopefully hearing about her story will give anyone who watches a new sense of empathy for those with chronic illnesses and offer a new perspective on the daily activities one might take for granted.
