Interview with Mr. Daniel Wagner, author of “The China Epiphany: Comprehending China's Relationship with America and the World.”

Mr. Daniel Wagner discusses how China subverts the current international order by gaining control of existing international institutions while it also attempts to replace the current international order with new institutions run by China. He emphasizes the need to push back against predatory Chinese practices and the simultaneous need to engage with China in areas where China plays by the rules and plays a constructive role. Based on decades of working in China and East Asia, Mr. Wagner provides a clear-eyed assessment of the risks and rewards for the U.S. in its continuing engagement with China.
