Every day, police put their lives at risk to protect the community but we often forget about the four legged officers whose natural instincts and tracking abilities protect us in a way that no one else can.

Dog trainer and dog behaviourist, Lara Shannon, spends time with police dog, Kevin and Andy, from the Queensland Police Dog Squad, who tell us of all the different dog breeds the police use in their work. Andy shares what they are looking for in a good police dog and discusses the training they undertake depending upon whether they will become a detection dog or a general purpose dog.
