Delinquency and criminality among minors are major problems for Russian society where justice is particularly severe. Currently, 17,000 children between the ages of 14 and 20 are serving their sentences in "work and education colonies", mostly located in Siberia. The living conditions in these contemporary prisons are regularly denounced by humanitarian organizations. -
