Dr. Sheetal Patel is a Board Certified General Surgeon, and Fellowship trained Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery. Graduating Cum Laude from Baylor University in 1997 with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, Dr. Patel then worked as a researcher in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Patel went on to receive her Medical Degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She completed her residency training in General Surgery at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois.

As a Resident Physician, she was the recipient of the MVP Physician Excellence Award from the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. She received further specialized training at Cleveland Clinic Florida where she completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery.
