I'm not a good typist. It takes me a long time to write one of these descriptions which I do three or 4 times a week as I present my video clips for my subscribers enjoyment. I didn't take typing classes in high school as they didn't really offer it for boys. Boys went to "shop" where girls went to typing among other special classes like hygiene and cooking.

A friend of mine decided to take a typing class in high school so that he could meet girls. Because he did that, when I meet with him for business matters, he types as we speak in a meeting and at the end has a written statement as to what went on. He can do two things at once! Listen to the meeting and even participate and type at the same time. What a skill!

I can remember the first time I touched an IBM Selectric typewriter. You didn't have to push the key hard to have the letter pop up. It was automatic! I know that sounds like not much today, but at the time, it was a thrill. And when you saw a silver ball that had all of the letters that you could pull out of the typewriter and replace with another font, I collected four or five of these bowls which I never used just because they were so beautiful.

I don't know if anyone can type this fast today and wish that keyboards which are still Qwerty could be changed into something that makes more sense but I'm afraid I'm stuck with what I learned when I was younger. And I'd rather put my energy and time into learning how to edit video in Adobe Premiere rather than Final Cut Pro 7.
